Name meaning : The name was given by Governor Macquarie in 1811, in honour of Captain Henry Colden Antill, his aide-de-camp.
Notes : Site had loco servicing facilities (for banking engines), watering facilities, a crossing loop and a turntable. Storeroom relocated to Colebrook (still exists). Station building relocated to Neika, since demolished. Sign exists at the Oatlands Museum. Turntable relocated to DRR. Station building was relocated from Mangelore in 1953 following the earlier closure of the Apsley Branch.

TR09 passes through Antill Ponds with train number 4-34. The light loading has meant the use of a single TR Class to work the train through to East Tamar. Single unit operations in Tasmania are not common due to the single cab design of the motive power which can create headaches for turning locos.
