Type : Station
Line : South Line
Distance from Hobart : 048.861km
Opened : 1912
Closed : 1982
Status : Closed
Name meaning : Unknown
Notes : Site had a loop siding on the Up side, two railway cottages, a gangers shed (in 1914 this was a tent camp), stock yards and a small ground level shelter on the Down side of the yards. In 1914 a petition was brought to have the Post Office moved to the station and also for a goods shed to be built. The Railway Commissioner declined the goods shed and loading bank request noting that it would require a costly extension of the siding - however in 1916 records show 90 pounds was spent to add a loading bank, goods shed and increase the length of the siding, a year later this had blown out to 370 pounds. Post Office relocated in 1914 to the station, Post Mistress terminated in 1923. Post Office facilities closed in 1942.
