On my journeys on the North Coast line as a youth in the 1970s I was always intrigued by Dungog station. With its art deco styling and island platform it seemed rather exotic when compared with other stations along the line. It's a much quieter location today, with minimal staffing hours and considerably less trains than was the case 50 years ago. I've enjoyed 'reconnecting' with Dungog after many years of not being in this area and it's nice to see the station building has survived with only some cosmetic changes to reflect the current corporate arrangement.
