Name meaning : After an Aboriginal word meaning "wind" - therefore "Windy Creek"
Notes : Station opened with the lengthy name of Camira Creek Railway Station, changing to Camira Creek in 1913. Opened with a 594 metre long loop. The original timber platform was 65.5 metres long and was situated on the Down side, it was later extended to 74.37 metres. 6/4/1906 - 5 ton crane installed. Between July and October 1987 all three residences were removed. Water facilities were provided on 1/12/1905 but may not have been very long lived.

Donald Bourke:

The siding had a hand operated gantry crane. Two of the swsas were Gerry English and Dave Harris. Probably had the crane as it was big on timber early on and the Old Tenterfield Road only 50 yards away

They loaded timber girders there as late as 1966.contractor was blue morris he loaded timber at Rappville camira creek and banyabba .he was assisted by his brother Bob and Bob bennett
