Name meaning : An Aboriginal word for "two tailed lizard" - pronunciation is "nar nar", not "nana" (as in the contraction for grandmother)
Notes : The original Up platform was 76.2 metres long. The site had a loop siding and central controlled 454 metre crossing loop (opened 14/12/1943). A 2 ton crane was relocated from Glenreagh on 10/12/1927. The 454 metre crossing loop was closed in 2010

Site of the Nana Glen Station, only a signalling hut is now in the area. A passing loop existed until around 2010 but this too has been lifted. (Google Maps)

Lance Lyon the hospital ships were white, it has two engines for speed and reliability and heading south at speed so hospital train possibly

Ted Brewer, the two engines are more likely due to the nature of the line than any military planning aspects. I believe at the time, nothing larger than a 34 class was allowed on this section, meaning that the 13 car ambulance trains required two locos simply to move the 477 ton consist

Lance Lyon, it is - A red cross can just be discerned on the first car (a TAM sleeper). This would be either Army Ambulance Train A2 or A3, between 1942 and 1945
