Type : Tank
Line : Apsley Branch
Distance from Brighton Junction : 38.624km
Opened : 1920
Closed : Unknown, likely with the line
Status : Closed
Name meaning : n/a
Notes : Near to the 24 mile mark (38.624km) a corrugated iron tank was erected in 1920 that was supplied by a pump from the nearby Jordan River to allowed steam engines to be watered.
This was the only place on the line between Dysart and Aspley that water could be reliably obtained.
Use of corrugated tanks for water facilities on the Tasmanian railways was common, particularly on minor branch lines that it was not cost effective to construct a full blown cast iron, timber or steel tank.
