Type : Halt
Line : Main Line
Distance from Hobart : 016.800km
Opened : 1930s (as Lovett's Gates), renamed St Virgil's (1962)
Closed : 1969
Status : Closed
Name meaning : Named after the location. Passenger facilities only. Platform only, no shelter. One of only two schools in Australia that had a dedicated railway stop, the other being Woodlawn College (near Lismore, NSW) that was open between 1943 & 1974 (and had a timber platform). UTAS incorrectly states in its history of St Virgil's that it was the only school in Australia that had a dedicated halt.
