Following from on "Marquet's Farm" Sleeper Platform for School Children above Wallarobba, another sleeper platform was erected onto the side of Kilbride Signal Box. (See Kilbride Post #4 ) This photograph actually shows the sleeper deck at the very bottom of the photograph, a wooden handrail, a crude location sign and a ramp on the northern or Hilldale side of the signal box. My older brothers reminded me that it was there in the 50's and was used by children from various nearby farms to go to Martin's Creek Primary School or to either of the Boy's or Girl's High Schools in Maitland each week day. Local adults would occasionally get the train to Maitland as well. This sleeper platform would have been taken away when the Signal Box was removed. My cousin, Graham Eyb, was signalman at Kilbride for many years. Regards Allan
